Leon was the man. I saw him over 40 years ago at Cole Field House, ZZ Top was the opening act, and he tore it up.
From sessions to backing Joe Cocker to solo work - he brought true musicianship to everything he touched. They definitely aren't making musicians like him anymore.

The only "rock" concert I ever attended was Leon Russell.
Golden Earring opened that gig with 45 minutes of the execrable "Radar Love."
