Trivia Question: Who Opened For The Beatles At Shea Stadium in 1965?

King Curtis. No, really:

And Cannibal and the Headhunters.

I think the na, na-na-na-naaa chant in that song will outlast the Beatles. But maybe that's just me.

I would have said it was The Mets, but then again, I was negative 10 years old at the time.

And who opened for the Monkees at the Jacksonville National Guard Armory way back when?

That's right: Jimi Hendrix.

Poor little teeny-boppers never knew what hit 'em.

King Curtis' "Soul Twist" was the break song of choice for years. Sweet. It was a great talk-over tune.

As for "Land of a Thousand Dances," it is the perfect song for folks who only know one chord. Nah nah nah nah.
