I've never owned an SG, but many have played them well besides the ACDC boys: Tommy Iommi, Elliot Easton, et al. guyhttp://beforetheyweredinosaurs.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14474631.post-46224901653646031192015-11-21T08:55:47.023-05:002015-11-21T08:55:47.023-05:00I may be a few weeks late to this picnic, but here...I may be a few weeks late to this picnic, but here are my thoughts, coming from a 55 year old who has been "casually playing" on and off in front of people for roughly 35 years. Towards the beginning of that tenure, I found the phrase, "Playing music is a lot like sex. It is OK by yourself, but better when shared with others." I have now been playing with the same guys for almst 10 years now and while we occasionally make a few dollars, we do it for the fun and the memories. Give us an excuse and a few beers and we are ready to go. Hats off to these guys, who while arguably past their prime, are still having fun and remembering. (and probably getting paid handsomely)

As far as the SG comments, I thought it sounded pretty good, but hey, I'm just a simple, village undertaker. The SG is one of the few "popular" guitars I haven't owned at one time or another. I vaguely recall playing a friend's back in the early 80's. That being said, to add to the list of those who have mastered that instrument, I nominate Ryan Newell, of Sister Hazel. Although it missed the record charts, it later gained wider exposure as one of the first recordings with guitarist Jimi Hendrix.

Speaking of Hendrix, starting to drift a bit, his work with Buddy and Stacey was done before he got, uh experienced. But yeah MacDonald butchers that mic and the SG only looks good or sounds decent hanging from Angus Young. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16326369118400344056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14474631.post-73881014468893288912015-11-10T18:42:24.052-05:002015-11-10T18:42:24.052-05:00da Boz!da Boz!Larry Geigerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13158449612437822789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14474631.post-16252102933745349332015-11-10T11:31:03.328-05:002015-11-10T11:31:03.328-05:00In the 90's my parents went to see "The R...In the 90's my parents went to see "The Rat Pack", or what was left of them. They swaggered or hobbled around the stage and sang all the familiar songs and told all the tired jokes...and my folks loved it. We do love our people. I saw Steely Dan about 20 years ago. It was an excellent show. I would love to see Boz. Sounds of my youth..Lesliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02284936021406079076noreply@blogger.com
