Seems more back breaking that it ought to be. He needs a work table that goes up and down. Messy tea drinker...

Milk and sugar in weak tea.

Stone is much easier to carve than wood - that whole absence of grain is a real plus.

There is no grain in stone? Marble? Is that true? I have no idea if that's true or not.

Stone workers I have spoken to all say that stone has grain.

It might, but not like a recalcitrant piece of oak burl, just sayin'.
