Man, what's the deal with musicians hating Steely Dan? I get more grief listening to them than I do the Dead (who are also a favorite target of musicians). Yeah, they're self-proclaimed uber-hip, smartest-and-coolest-guys-in-the-room, superior-just-because-they're-New-York-hipsters, and their music is way slick and over-produced...uh, where was I going with this? I'm going to iTunes to download Can't Buy a Thrill. Take that, Mr. Sippican!
I wonder if that elevator goes up or down for "the nice part of hell"?
I grew up with a dad who liked Mitch Miller and show tunes and listened to them on his reel to reel tapes. He took a lot of his vinyls and converted them --- So, my taste in music, I'm sure, is banal.
I like Steely Dan in my day...
I'm music white trash, I think. I'm good with that. I'm pretty sure that if I was brought up in the twenty first century of music, even with my limitations, I still wouldn't like -- Katy Perry? Ugh. Lady GaGa -- UGH, but you know, I could be missing something, but I don't think so.
One of my favorites, too, Bob! On my dad's 65th birthday my sisters and I sang this song and "My Heart Belongs to Daddy" to him. He had tears in his eyes when we sang it to him. We managed to sing our parts without breaking down, but it was sure hard.

Hell is getting old and playing gigs in a Oklahoma casino.
It's the mu major chords that keep reelin' em in and make the h8ers h8.

Great artists don't plagiarize. They steal.

Hi everyone- Thanks for reading and commenting.
Casey- If I killed myself now, and the afterlife is eternal, I still won't have enough time for that.
Johnny- I love you, but you're not following along closely in the playbook here.
Gagdad Bob- That one's lovely, and a favorite here at the Cottage. The Gahden
