Holy Cow Itzhak Perlman Was Good In 1958 When He Was Thirteen Years Old

If he was thirteen years old today he'd probably play X-Box instead, be systematically starved and hounded because he's "obese," and be drugged into oblivion because he won't pay attention to drivel in class.

Yes, he was.

Off topic.
I thought you might be interested in this video from Valparaíso,Chile. How’s This for A Bike Race, courtesy of Babalú blog.
I have seen insanity and it happens on the streets of Valparaiso, Chile. The Valparaiso Cerro Abajo Race is a legendary urban bike race and is more extreme than skydiving out of an exploding F-18 piloted by Charlie Sheen - while chugging a 2 liter of Mountain Dew. The rider must brave jumps, stray dogs, and flights of stairs along the steep downhill path. The first person perspective provided by the excellent helmet cam lets us take in every glorious and frightening detail. Do yourself a favor and watch this one in full screen mode.

Coincidentally, Valparaíso is the birthplace of both Salvador Allende and Augusto Pinochet.

Hi, anonymous Gringo. Thanks for reading and commenting.

We featured that bike race on our other blog, the Borderline Sociopathic Blog for Boys.

His performance speaks highly of a culture which reveres learning!

In re Perlman, give a listen to this. Soaring, roaring, terrible and magnificent; soul music in all its glory.

Had a front row seat to his performance in Daytona Beach a few years back. Incredible. An infusion of beautiful in my soul.

I just love the guy. What a joy it is to listen to him.

Just a nitpick tho. Its hard for me to imagine even the federal nannies hounding a handicapped kid to sweat off the pounds.

But maybe I underestimate them? ;-)
