Ain't It Funny How Time Slips Away. Happy Birthday Lyle Lovett

It's Lyle Lovett's birthday, so I got myself a present. Al Green and Lyle singing.

Did you see him sing the America The Beautiful at the Ballpark last night? Him and a guy with a cello. It was awesome.

FHB- Thanks for reading and commenting.

At the risk of sounding like that guy, I must admit I don't have a television.

Off to YouTube I go.

OK, I'm back. You're right. It was terrific.

Yeah, except that was The Star Spangled Banner that Lyle sung at game 4.

I'm so tired of being alone...
That's why I'm coming to Maine.

This is great stuff, ain't? Two wonderful and distinct styles, great band, perfect groove. Yum.

Gotta love Al Green - but Lyle Lovett's a one-off, y'know?

Great song, but I much prefer Willie Nelson's rendition.
That gritty voice and down to earth guitar play fit the tune and lyrics perfectly.

Yeah, Willie's pretty the which than which there is no whicher.

For another "Worlds Collide!" moment, check this one out:
