FWIW, the backup band in the second clip is The Kentucky Colonels. The stonefaced little guy playing guitar is a young Clarence White, who was Tony Rice's childhood inspiration.

He died in 1973 in a car accident, after playing for awhile with The Byrds. There's very little video available of him playing acoustic, but here's the best one, with brother Roland again playing mandolin:
